I am a great fan of the Yardbirds. I saw the concert last saturday in my hometown Horsens. It was fantastic and they are much better than any of the other bands that played. My brother saw them in the 60s, but I was to young. It is nice to have a chance to see them now. I have signatures from the band with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck. Very Nice!
I really enjoy work of Ben King, really good! And John Idan is a real good singer and I hope to see more shows with him! He is fantastic! Jim McCarty and Chris Dreja are really good! Good to keep going!

The Yardbirds rock!

Is Idan nuts? Why would he quit? He could have a solo career right alongside of his gig with The Yardbirds.

EL KABONG

September 4, 2008

I can't imagine anyone sounding as good with the Yardbirds as John Idan. I respect his decision but I wish he could have come to some kind of compromise where he could do his solo stuff AND be in the Yardbirds. Ultimately, only he knows what is best for his career...good luck to him

Sorry to hear of mr. John Idan leaving the Yardbirds...he was fantastic with them and I for one will sorely miss his talents with the band. I wish him well.

Why wont the Yardbirds do something interesting! They need the right management, i met Ben King at 'Hard Rock Calling' in London and I don't think he will be staying with 'the boys' for much longer...that was my first impression anyways....COME ON YARDBIRDS!!

Hey,
The Yardbirds rule! There are one of my all time favorite bands. And I'm only 16 years old. I really hope if they tour the US they should come to Buffalo, New York. You are one of the greatest bands in the world and you should be proud of what you have accomplished.

Rock On Guys!

Very disappointed to hear the news about the US tour cancellation. Apparently Paradise Artists doesn't update the itinerary part of the website frequently. Any news on rescheduling US dates. Russ, if you're ever in Newport RI, look me up. I'll take you fishing or cruising on my charter boat HOWLIN' WOLF. Anymore Yardbirds hats for sale? Keep up the good work.

I live in Louisville Ky and was fortunate enough to travel and see The Yardbirds twice over the last few years. I've been spreading the news however possible around here about how awesome the Yardbirds are in concert and managed to convince three other people to fly with me to Sellersville PA this year to see them in August. We booked our flight and got our concert tickets in the mail. I know stuff happens....but man I am totally bummed that this tour is cancelled!!! Especially since the plane tickets are non-refundable. I guess we'll go check out the Phillies or something...I hate baseball!

Audrey

June 11, 2008

Got the email about the US tour being cancelled. Very disappointed!!Seeing the Yardbirds in Pittsburgh in July 06 and August 07 were the highlights of my summer. I hope something happens to change this. Keep us posted.

I won 4 tickets from KRLA radio in LA for the Catalina island concert August 23 1966 I was 17 I'm now 60 and still rockin'! I met Jimmy Page, and the other guys in the band. I also ran into Frank Sinatra Jr. Mike Dodero was with me when I picked up the tickets in Hollywood. We stopped at a orange julius, and all of a sudden our dreams came true, and through the door, 2 Hispanic hotties, 1 for Mike, 1 for Steve we had to go meet her parents at their house in Pico Rivera, right next to my house in Downey before we drive to the marina and get on the big white steam ship we all got in my 52 Oldsmobile low rider, dropped by my pad to roll up a few party bombers, got on the Long Beach Freeway at Firestone, and was at the docks in 20 min. and, no I did not get laid mike got lost on the upper decks and passed out cold on the wet upper benches so I had to try and amuse the women tell we got back to shore, I found a perfect little nitch that we fit in ,we sat down and fired one up! if any of you crazy Yardbirds fans were at that concert just let me know, e me at steveandroff@comcast.net peace Steve

The Yardbirds have been my favorite group since 1964 from WKKO AM Radio. I was infachuated with the Yardbirds music. I still have all my original albums on Epic label. I have the last live concert on New York's East Side with Jimmy Page from 1968 on LP. Thank you for forty years of great music.

The Yardbirds of the 1960's that I remember were just fabulous. I could have watched Keith Relf sing all day long. I wore out THREE 45 RPM's on "Heart Full of Soul".
I'm glad it was the Yardbirds that spawned two out of this world guitarists, thus creating Led Zepplin. I miss Keith Relf, a very singer and very very handsome I thought. Thanks for the memories guys.

Last night I saw The Yardbirds performing at Lohlein's in Wendelstein, Germany. I didn't know The Yardbirds before! I'm interested in 60's music, my parents love The Yardbirds and so they gave me that 'go to The Yardbirds concert' as a birthday present. And.. how to say? That performance just carried my away! I'm really impressed! Unfortunately there only were seats, so that the people had hardly an opportunity to dance... Anyway, Yardbirds: I was enthusiastic about that special mood that spread right from the beginning, John's 60s style clothing and of course (!) his voice!!! I had loved to talk to you all after your show but my parents wanted to leave and I unforunately couldn't.. I hope you are coming back next year?! Thank's for that great evening! Big praise, Yardbirds!

Is there any chance of The Yardbirds touring Australia? They were last in Brisbane in January 1967 so it's about time they came back.

I just listened to "Yardbirds Live with Jimmy Page" last night for the first time in years. Does anyone remember when Keith Relf said "I'm going to leave the whole stage to Jimmy Page" and then Page played "White Summer". I think it would be a great addition to the live Yardbirds show if they let Ben King show off more and let him do something similar to that. We love you in Pittsburgh, Yardbirds!

Story Lightining

August 26, 2007

Caught the show at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma, Ca. earlier this year. We would have happily settled for a "Greatest Hits" type show however what took place was way better than imagined.Ben King was hot and deserves to be in the same category with the other guitar slinging lads that once played with the band. What a rave up!Please Get in a studio with Ben ASAP!!

Audrey

August 25, 2007

I don't even know where to start. I have been a fan since 1968 when I was 9 years old. Of course, I never got to actually see the Yardbirds live--that is--until last July when I saw they were going to be at the Pittsburgh Blues Festival. I can say it was definitely worth the wait. I couldn't believe I was actually seeing them, I was practically in tears. Of course the show was beyond excellent. It was the highlight of my summer. You can imagine how very pleasantly surprised I was to see them again last night in Pittsburgh. Both shows I was able to get both new CDs signed by the whole band, all of whom are excellent musicians. All I can say is Thank you for coming back to Pittsburgh Yardbirds. You are awesome!!!

Since I received the album "live at the BB king club", I listen the album almost every day. What a great sound. I have heard the numbers many times , and anytime the numbers are more better.
What a great sound from the young and old members of the yardbirds. I hope they go further for years.

I want to thank you guys for creating the MOST BLUESWAILING MUSIC
THAT WILL CONTINUE TO BE TIMELESS!
It is always a revelation to hear
your sound that continues to set the
template for generations of musicians. As a guitarist myself,I
am still at awe with that YARDBIRDS SOUND!
You cats are the reason why I pick up a Telecaster and play everyday.
It's good that THE YARDBIRDS ARE STILL HAVING A RAVE UP! KEEP A ROCKIN'AND A ROLLIN'!By the way,
your current guitar player Ben King
is PHENOMENAL. FROM PAST,PRESENT,FUTURE,LONG LIVE THE YARDBIRDS! GODSPEED!
