was at the Larcom show last night. Simply said, it was one of the very best band performances I have had, ever, in my many years of enjoying music. Each of you is so exceptional in your playing/singing, the songs are magic themselves, and the energy that each of you brought to the night, and together, was incredible! Thanks so much for putting this group together and allowing us all to share in it. Last night was truly special.

On behalf of everyone in Se7en Reasons Why I just want to say what an honor it was to open for you at Saint Rocke this past Friday. Not only did you once again confirm what amazing players you all are but you were also so very kind to us before and after the show which makes a memorable night completely unforgettable. Thanks for being such a class act and delivering such an epic performance for all us fans!

I go back to original Yardbirds and tried to play everything on the first 3-4 albums.....was a Beck fan to the max....had a blonde Tele with a Batman sticker.....best thing was seeing the Yardbirds in 1968 in Aurora, CO at Hal Baby's (small club) and saw Keith Relf and PAGE.....what a treat...

March 22, 2015

I saw the Yardbirds for the first time at the Fillmore in San Francisco in July1967. Now the posters that they gave out after the dances are worth way more than the $3.00 fee it cost to get in and I used to have close to 100 or so of the cards and posters.
Bummer that they're "lost in limbo" just at the 'special time that was ' ~ is gone forever.....

It was with great sadness that I read one of the greatest bands ever was disbanding. I saw the Yardbirds perform about 10 times & had the good fortune to meet Jim, Chris, Ben, Dave & Andy. I was hopeful to see the band one more time after Top rejoined. Thankfully, I have a lot of good memories. Best of luck to all of you in any future endeavors.

September 25, 2014

I grew up with the Yardbirds since I first heard "For Your Love", when I lived in Newport, RI, as a Navy brat. They, the Beatles, and Buffalo Springfield have always been my favorites out the 60's invasion period. I no longer have "Yardbirds Live at Anderson", but I still have the double anthology put out by Epic, on vinyl, in my collection. Waiting for my new 5-in-1 turntable/cassette/cd recorder, to transfer the music to cd, to preserve the vinyl...

Saw them in Milwaukee. What did they feed these guys as kids?? Top & Jim were both smashing. They got a big crowd on their feet. Jim generates a DRIVING rhythm and Top plays great licks. The whole band clicks.

Brill night at Derngate last night sooo good. Started with the Animals which were outstanding. Dave Berry, great as always then the Yardbirds, what can I say outstanding. Say them 1st time round in the 60's as a young teenager. Followed by the brilliant Zombies a fantastic night all round. Derngate, Northampton is local to us and is a great venue which could do with a lick of paint and new seating, not been done for quite some time but ha ho who cares with such talent appearing there.

rafferty

February 8, 2014

Saw the Yardbirds last night at the newly refurbished Derngate Theatre Northampton UK. The Birds came on the stage and nearly ripped the roof off the place, they played Hit after Hit with sheer power and aggression, the applause from the crowd after each number was amazing. The Band left the stage to a standing ovation. Nobody wanted them to leave the stage. The Zombies were the last on stage, I felt sorry for them, you can,t follow an act like that. The Yardbirds should have been last on.

January 27, 2014

Massive thanks for a fabulous show at skegness rock and blues festival.
One of my favourite bands and i wasnt dissapointed. Best band of the weekend....though jefferson starship but on an incredible performance
too.but you guys were just amazing!

D. Ball.

December 18, 2013

Re the Yardbirds history, when Gypie Mayo took time out in 1998, John Idan moved over to lead guitar, and Denny Ball took over on bass. Denny Ball is not ex Journeyman. He was ex Bedlam, John Baldry and session player for many others.

Randy Gilkinson

December 11, 2013

I'm waiting for them to come back to MT. Baker Theater in Bellingham Wash. Their show was fantastic. Until then their CDs keep me going.

A wonderful night at Twickenham England. The Yardbirds 50th Anniversary Gig. You should have been there. Wow didn,t those Yardbirds rock !! they played a not stop set of over 2hrs. The crowd went crazy as soon as they took to the stage. The Band never dissapointed, they never do. They took rock to a level i have never seen before. Sheer power and musical finess.

November 27, 2012

Hi Russ...just love your web site here...I just found time to read and reread all the fans' memories of seeing and meeting the band...I want to share my first meeting and seeing the Yardbirds...well, I wish I was old enough to have seen them back in the middle to late 60's...but even my older brother was only adventurous enough to witness Led Zeppelin in Milwaukee in July the 25th of 1969, at the Midwest Rock Fest...and I was 10...he was 11 years old...but he was the Clapton, Beck, Page fan, and the one to turn me on to them...so ...years later in 1983...I was stationed in England at RAF Alconbury...and I read in Melody Maker that the Marquee Club was celebrateing their 25th aniversary by reuniting all these bands and coming back to play the place...well, I read about the Animals, and John Mayall, and yes...THE YARDBIRDS...so, I talked this cook friend of mine who knew who they were to travel down to London to see them with me...I knew to get into town early in the morning and see London before heading over to the Marquee...we waited around for anyone important to arrive who was worth meeting...and low and behold a black taxi arrives and out gets a familiar face with guitar case in hand...it's PAUL SAM-WELL SMITH...!!!... Oh, My God...so I asked for his autograph for me and my brother...and took a picture of him...he was very cordial about it...and I told him I had heard many things about HIM and being so legendary...we never saw Jim or Chris...but once the show started ...up there were Jim on his famous Premiers and Chris and Paul...what an amazing treat...and oh...the Marquee Club is really a cool yet low key...but very famous place to be at...months later...I went and saw Santana, and yes... the very first ARMS concert at the Royal Albert Hall...another buddy and I got to see Eric, Jeff, and Jimmy...back to back as they came out and played for benefitting Ronnie Lanes illness...I got to meet Jimmy and Jeff, Charlie Watts, and Bill Wyman, and no one was allowed to disturb Ronnie..."Bless Him"...we had 3rd row seats...and my pictures may end up online one of these days...well...just wanted to share a couple of huge events in my life of being a Yardbird fan...anyone who saw them in their heyday are very lucky...but the line-up today is equally as awesome as ever...long live the Yardbirds...!!!

robert romero

November 26, 2012

Yahooey...really ??? Maybe an official release of "Live at the Anderson Theatre" ??? This is one of the first things I heard of the Yardbirds...my brother had an honest to goodness boot of it...and I thought it was great...years later I found myself a couple of copies of it on epic records and then a holy grail issue of it on the Columbia Special Products label...which I had only read about ...so everyone...keep your eyes open for a copy of it on the Columbia Records Special Products label...were those only available in the budget bins ??? But I have one...and I wouldn't trade or sell any one of my copies for the world...Oh...and if ya want to go see the Anderson Theatre...it is indeed on the lower east side in the bowery one block down and across the street from the Fillmore East ( aka, ...the Village Theatre )...so pay your homage to music and the Yardbirds and go see the old Anderson Theatre...of course...like the Fillmore...both are rather shut down for business...but still stand ...just like the old Paramount Theatre in Times Square...if you look up...you will notice the Globe atop the Paramount , like I did...well...let's keep our fingers crossed...I think Jimmy's playing is amazing...listen to the solo on "MY BABY"...lots of wah-wah pedal on that one...it gives me the willies' upon hearing that solo...definitely one to crank up...the whole show is gonna sound great once properly done right...and I would buy a dozen copies in my book...trust me...I know...Oh...and I copped some of Jim's drumming from that show and incorporated into my own playing...the Yardbirds rule...!!!!

robert romero

October 22, 2012

Just read the updated bio on my friends the YARDBIRDS...and was clear as to why no Mr. Chris Dreja in the line-up...well...I want to send WELL WISHES and some speedy recovery for him..."take your time Chris...we miss you not playing with the band...but it is far more important that you take your time and focus on your health..."Good Luck" and I for one hope to see you again here in Milwaukee...and again at our lakefront SUMMERFEST...God Bless you and sit around with your guitar to keep your fingers loose...your friend in America... rob romero...

We have enjoyed presenting the Yardbirds in Twickenham over the years. Our first promotion of the band was in the 1998 gala gig 'From Rock'n Roll to Rhythm & Blues'.

I first saw The Yardbirds on their first American tour with Jeff, at Chicago's old McCormick Place, on Lake Michigan. It's hard to believe thats been about 47 years ago. And Jeff is still kickin;' out the jams! I also saw Renaissance in Chicago. I miss Keith. But, thanks to the new and remastered boxsets, we can enjoy the rave-ups forever! Rock on guys! Traveled from Cleveland to catch the show in buffalo. Enjoyed it a lot. The crowd really responded with a lot of love and concern for Chris after they were told of his stroke. We’re all looking forward to having a case of Dréjà vu when we see Chris back where he belongs raking out the classic Yardbirdian guitar foundation.
